History

The Bakehouse Cottages (now named Cookery Nook) were built around 1840. At that time there were three bakehouse cottages.

The third cottage appears to have been demolished prior to the 1920s. The existence of a larger cottage either side of the small central building suggests that there were two bakers accommodated at Woolmers and the central building was the primary bakehouse.

The cottages were adapted by Thomas Archer VI in the 1980s to provide rental accommodation for paying guests. This led to the insertion of a kitchen and bathroom fittings in the main building.
