The Servants Kitchen Opens At 8am
The Servants’ Kitchen Cafe is the only place in Northern Tasmania where breakfast comes with complimentary access to a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Order breakfast from 8am and walk the estate grounds free of charge until 10am.
Between 8am and 10am, Woolmers belongs to the early risers. No ticket required. Just 13 hectares of heritage gardens, tree-lined avenues, original 1820s buildings and the National Rose Garden in the quiet before the day begins. It’s one of the most beautiful morning walks in Northern Tasmania and most people don’t know it exists.
The Servants’ Kitchen is right there waiting when you’re ready. Breakfast and lighter meals served from an 1847 building that once fed an entire estate, designed by William Archer and built to house the kitchen, larders, scullery and the servants who kept Woolmers running. The coffee is good. The food is made with Tasmanian produce. You don’t need to eat to walk the grounds but it does make the morning considerably better.
After 10am, the estate moves to ticketed access and the Servants’ Kitchen continues serving guests until 6pm. If you’re spending the day at Woolmers, it’s worth knowing it’s there for lunch, an afternoon bite or somewhere to sit before the drive home.
